Zubal

Frank J. Zubal, 86, of Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, went to be with the Lord at 10:50 p.m. Sunday at his home while in the company of family members.

Frank was born in East Vandergrift, March 10, 1923, the son of the late Joseph and Eva (Fregelic) Zubal.

He was a member of the Allegheny Presbyterian Church, Leechburg.

Frank served in the Marines as a private first class in World War II, serving in the Pacific theater aboard the USS Westpoint.

After his service to his country, he worked for the Freeport Telephone Co. and then for the North Pittsburgh Telephone Co. in Gibsonia. He worked for 35 years, retiring in 1988.

Frank was a member of the Natrona Heights VFW and the Freeport Order of Odd Fellows No. 379.

He enjoyed working on his family farm and being with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Alice Joann (Clark) Zubal; his daughter, Jane Ann (John) Woitas of Jefferson Township; and his son, Frank R. (Cora) Zubal of Allegheny Township. He also is survived by his four grandchildren, Shelly Sefton, Kelly Leggens and Heather and Heidi Zubal; and four great-grandchildren, Shawna, Shannon and Sharyn Sefton and Eva Campman.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers, John and Thomas Zubal; and five sisters, Anna Scopel, Mary Svantner, Magdelyn Raymont, Helen Kingerski and his twin sister, Irene Sipes.

<B>ZUBAL</B> — Family and friends of Frank J. Zubal, who died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the <B>Redmond Funeral Home</B>, 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Allegheny Presbyterian Church, Leechburg, with Lay Pastor Lloyd Riggle officiating.
