History in the making
The A-C Valley volleyball team has already made history.
Now, the Falcons want to add another chapter.
Erika Rothen had 18 kills and 12 digs, and Katie Quaill had 27 assists to lead A-C Valley to a 25-21, 22-25, 25-15, 25-15 victory over Coudersport in the District 9 Class A playoffs Thursday night.
The win puts the Falcons in line for their first district championship in school history.
"It's exciting," said A-C Valley coach Doug Knox. "For a program that went 3-11, then 9-9, then 12-5 and now 13-2 and in the district championship — it's exciting to see where this program is now."
A-C Valley plays Redbank Valley Saturday morning, then will play Clarion and Otto Eldred in the round-robin tournament.
Should the Falcons finish in the top two, they would advance to the PIAA Class A tournament.
"We get another shot at Redbank Valley and Clarion, the two teams who beat us this season," Knox said.
Sam Kerlin added seven kills and 17 points for A-C Valley
