Carol Blair Troese
Carol Blair Troese, 65, of Cranberry Township died Saturday at UPMC Passavant hospital, McCandless Township.
Born Nov. 21, 1943, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Dorothy Nevin Blair.
Mrs. Troese retired in November 2008 after 25 years as director of the Cranberry Township Public Library.
She was a 1965 graduate of Clarion University with a bachelor of arts degree in literature and earned her master's degree in library science from the University of Pittsburgh.
Carol also sang with the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh and served as an usher with the Pittsburgh Public Theater.
She attended the Calvin Presbyterian Church in Zelienople.
She is survived by two daughters, Marcia D. Troese of Bangor, Maine, and Elicia M. Verderber and her husband, Stephen, of Pittsburgh; a brother, Hugh Blair and his wife, Barbara, of Philadelphia; and two grandsons, Alex Kieffer and Samuel Verderber.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel J. Troese; and by a son-in-law, Michael Kieffer
