David John Oliver Sr.
David John Oliver Sr., 70, of Prospect died Thursday at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.
He was born Jan. 12, 1939, in New Brighton, Beaver County, and was the son of John Donald Oliver and Anna Mae Stanford Oliver.
He was a truck driver and had retired from the former Russell Trucking in Wampum. He also had worked for McClymonds Supply & Transit in Portersville.
He was a member of the Mountville United Presbyterian Church in Portersville.
He was a member of the Teamsters Union 261 in New Castle, and he was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife Darlene DeGasto Oliver, who he married Jan. 10, 1959; four sons, David John Oliver Jr. and his wife, Carol, of Bridgeville, Daniel "Boonie" Oliver of Slippery Rock, Dennis Jay Oliver and his wife, Tracey, of Butler and Darren James Oliver and his wife, Bonna, of Strongsville, Ohio; three daughters, Darla Jean Oliver of Greenville, Dana Jo Oliver of Butler and Destiny Ash Oliver at home; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Kathleen) Kelley of Florida and Betty Ann Leddon of Ellwood City; and four brothers, Donald Oliver of Seattle, Wash., James Oliver and his wife, Billie, of Dunbar, Thomas Oliver and his wife, Deb, of St. Cloud, Fla., and William Oliver of Franklin.
<B>OLIVER </B>— Visitation for David John Oliver Sr., who died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Jay Bryan Fun Home</B>, 443 Main St., Prospect. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Mountville United Presbyterian Church in Portersville with the Rev. Donald Hurray officiating. Burial will be in the Mountville United Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
