Laura DeMatt, 93, of Butler passed away Friday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in Mars, Feb. 11, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Clara Pizzi DeMatt Sr.

She formerly was employed at the G.C. Murphy Store on South Main Street at the lunch counter. She, along with her sister, owned and operated DeMatt's Restaurant on West Cunningham Street, and she also managed the Hostess Shop at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by one brother, Albert DeMatt Jr. of Butler; seven nieces and nephews; and a number of great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence DeMatt and Elsie Lutton; and three brothers, Anthony "Bus" DeMatt, Mundo DeMatt and Joseph DeMatt.

<B>DeMATT</B> — There will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian burial for Laura DeMatt, who died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with the Rev.
