Thomas Cumberland and Melanie Grooms

A Sept. 18 wedding is being planned by Melanie Grooms of Lynchburg, Va., and Thomas Cumberland of Butler.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of John and Joyce Grooms of Stuart, Va. Parents of the prospective bridegroom are Michael and Margie Cumberland of Butler.

The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of Patrick County High School and a 2009 graduate of Liberty University, where she received a bachelor's degree in biology and premedicine.

Her fiance graduated in 2008 from Portersville High School. He is employed by Moody Corporation in Zelienople.
