Patricia S. Steighner
Patricia S. Steighner, 58, of Township Road in Linesville, Crawford County, died Wednesday evening at her residence.
She was born March 1, 1951, in Butler, a daughter of Dorothy Stevens Stroup and the late Vance L. Stroup.
Patty was a 1969 graduate of Butler High School.
She retired as a shift manager in the material management and shipping department at the AK Steel Corp. in 2008. She worked at Armco and AK for 30 years.
Patty was a member of the Oak Hills Christian Church.
She was an avid golfer and greatly enjoyed camping, boating and traveling.
She was a member of the Snack n' Pack Golf League at Stoughton Acres and the Jolly Girls Bowling League at Sherwood Lanes.
Her husband, Franklin T. "Butch" Steighner, who she married Sept. 3, 1983, survives her. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Stroup of Butler; two brothers and their wives, Richard V. "Dick" and Elizabeth "Betsy" Stroup of Mansfield, Ohio, and Stephen D. and Kathleen Stroup of Jolton, Tenn.; two sisters, Virginia Anne Falkner of Charlotte, N.C., and Cynthia Lynn "Cindy" Betres and her husband, Frank Betres, of Butler; and two stepdaughters, Michelle L. Miller of Grove City and Mrs. Michael (Paula) Parisi of Butler. Four grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.
<B>STEIGHNER </B>— Friends of Patricia S. Steighner, who died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Phillip Conyers, pastor of the Oak Hills Christian Church, officiating.
