Gremlins boys win 6th straight KSAC soccer title

Courtney Gallagher of Butler returns the ball to Seneca Valley's Elisa Park Monday. Gallagher defeated Park 6-1. 6-4 to help the Golden Tornado to a 5-0 sweep of the Raiders.

Eric McCue scored two goals to lead the Karns City boys soccer team to a 5-1 win over visiting Redbank Valley Monday.

With the victory, the Gremlins (12-0, 12-1-1) clinch their sixth consecutive Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference title.

Nick Lopresti, Ethan McGarvey and Tim Johnston also scored, with assists going to McGarvey, Johnston and Matt Slagle.

Slippery Rock 1, Grove City 0 — Ryan Hyatt scored with eight minutes remaining to lead the Rockets to a region victory.Goalie Tyler Little picked up the shutout for Slippery Rock (10-2-1, 10-2), which moved ahead of the Eagles (9-2) in the league standings.

Mars 2, North Hills 1 — Dana Wonderly scored the winning goal on a free kick by Jordyn White. Lexie Mastro scored the Planets' first goal off a pass from Erin Resosky.Pine-Richland 3, Butler 2 — Nikki Hladik had a goal and an assist, but the Tornado fell to the Rams.Tia Maticic had a goal and Sam Rossi had an assist for Butler (6-8-1, 5-6-1), which plays at North Allegheny Wednesday.

Carlie Bieranowski had 20 points, 13 kills and five blocks to lead Freeport to a 25-20, 26-28, 25-18, 25-20 win over Montour.Madison Rotto added 18 points, 10 kills and 24 assists, and Laura Prunty had 10 kills and 16 points for the Yellowjackets (10-0, 9-0).Pine-Richland 3, Mars 0 — Madie Hudac had 26 assists, Camblin Leonard had 12 kills and Lara Caraway had 15 digs, but the Planets fell to the Rams 25-22, 25-25, 25-23.
