STATE COLLEGE — A Penn State freshman who was found dead in a campus stairwell had a blood-alcohol level police say showed impairment.

Centre County coroner Scott Sayers said 18-year-old Joseph Dado's blood alcohol level was .169. Dado was found dead Sept. 20 after being last seen early the previous morning leaving a fraternity party.

Dado's blood alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit for a 21-year-old to drive. Police said while Dado's level showed impairment, it was not unusual for people encountered by authorities.

Authorities are looking into whether anyone furnished him with alcohol, specifically at two locations. The addresses for those locations are fraternity houses.

A decision might not come for a couple weeks.
