Bickel

Clifford Eugene "Skip" Bickel, 75, of Slippery Rock Township died at 9:23 p.m. Friday at the Suburban General Life Care Center, Pittsburgh.

Born in Slippery Rock Township, April 11, 1934, he was the son of Clifford Adam Bickel and Sara Pearl Wilson.

He married Nora Kathryn Wimer on Aug. 25, 1956.

Mr. Bickel was a self-employed dairy farmer.

He was a member of the Bethel Presbyterian Church in Slippery Rock Township.

He was a 1953 graduate of Slippery High School and received the Keystone Farmer Award that same year. He was named Outstanding Young Farmer in 1964. He was a member and former master of the Slippery Rock Grange. He also was a member of the Butler County Pomona and State granges. He formerly served on the board of directors for Agway in Slippery Rock and formerly served on the board of ASCS, the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Diana S. Allaman and her husband, Wayne, of Butler and Shirley E. Presley and her husband, Donnie, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.; a son, Steven P. Bickel and his wife, Carol, of Slippery Rock; a brother, Donald A. Bickel and his wife, Pat, of Grove City; and a sister, Thelma J. Wilson and her husband, Harold, of Portersville. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Adam J. Whitfield and his wife, Casey, Bill C. Whitfield, Steven A. Allaman and Christopher W. Allaman; a step-granddaughter, Wendy Hubbard; and three great-grand children, Kelci, Kayden and Kaitlyn Whitfield.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James E. Bickel.

<B>BICKEL</B> — Visitation for Clifford Eugene "Skip" Bickel, who died Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark Frailey, pastor of the Bethel Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Willard Morse, retired pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Slippery Rock Cemetery, Slippery Rock Township.
