PITTSBURGH — A man arrested last June in an investigation of militia groups was sentenced to time served for selling firearms without a license.

Wednesday's sentencing means Morgan Jones, 65, of Lucinda, Clarion County, will be freed later today.

Jones' attorney pushed for a sentence of time served instead of the 2 years Jones faced. The attorney said Jones wasn't part of any organized militia.

He pleaded guilty in June to selling a gun to an out-of-state resident and selling ammunition to a felon turned informant. Jones' attorney said the ammunition was a single bullet used to test fire a weapon.

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra is removing five sidewalk stones with the PNC Bank logo on them because the orchestra didn't get city permission to include the advertising when it fixed the sidewalk last month.PNC Bank officials said they donated an unspecified amount of money to help with the sidewalk renovation outside Heinz Hall.Symphony spokesman Jim Barthen said the orchestra didn't know it needed special permission to add the 1-square-foot stones to the sidewalk as part of the $900,000 overhaul.

PITTSBURGH — A jury acquitted a man accused of opening fire on a street and indirectly causing the death of a 12-year-old boy who fled the gunfire.The lawyer for 20-year-old Donald Wilson, also known as "Tank," argued his client was a victim of mistaken identity and wasn't the one who opened fire on the street in Wilkinsburg.The victim, Kholen Germany, ran into a clothing store when the gunfire erupted on April 18, 2008. He was shot and killed by 25-year-old Kevin Johnson of Pittsburgh's Homewood section. Johnson testified he thought he was shooting at Wilson. He testified for the prosecution against Wilson.
