PITTSBURGH — A woman accused of improperly caring for hundreds of cats is back in jail after violating a court order to stay away from animals.

Linda Bruno, 47, was to be sentenced Monday on animal cruelty charges she pleaded guilty to in July, but Allegheny County Judge Jill Rangos postponed the hearing after hearing evidence of Bruno's contact with animals. She also failed to undergo a required psychiatric evaluation.

Bruno had hundreds of cats at her 29-acre Tiger Ranch Farm near Tarentum. Many were sick, dying or dead.

She was arrested in March 2008 after animal control agents and sheriff's deputies raided the sanctuary following an undercover investigation.
