Florence E. Schlagel

Florence E. Schlagel, 78, of Butler passed away Thursday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Butler, Feb. 18, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Grace Pithers Hurley.

She worked as an office manager for Kmart. She retired in 1994 after more than 25 years of service. She also was formerly employed at the Montgomery Ward store on South Main Street in downtown Butler.

She was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, and she was formerly associated with the Butler County Humane Society.

She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Linda Evans and her husband, Tom, of Butler, Brenda Pollock and her fiance, Kevin Sarver, of Renfrew and Doreen Bowers and her husband, James, of Butler; and four grandchildren, Robert Evans of Harrisville, Tara Evans of Clearwater, Fla., Stefanie Bowers of Butler and Maxwell Bowers of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan L. Schlagel, who passed away in January 1996.

<B>SCHLAGEL</B> — Friends of Florence E. Schlagel, who died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in the <B>Martin Funeral Home</B>, 429 Center Ave., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Paul Cooper officiating. Everyone is asked to meet at the church. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.Information also is available at www.martinfh.net.
