BUTLER TWP — District Judge Kevin O'Donnell recently heard these cases:

John B. Best, 20, of Chicora was held for court on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, accidents involving damage to attended vehicles, driving under suspended privilege, reckless driving, failure to notify police of accident, failure to yield, and driving without insurance, filed Aug. 31 by Butler Township police.

Jeffrey S. Checkan, 41, of Renfrew pleaded guilty to a charge of harassment, filed May 23 by Butler Township police. Checkan was sentenced to pay $244.50 in fines and court costs.

Kimberly L. Gatto, 23, of Butler was held for court on a charge of retail theft, filed Aug. 20 by Butler Township police.

Kayti L. Reitler, 26, of Rimersburg waived to court charges of retail theft and defiant trespass, filed Aug. 3 by Butler Township police. Reitler also waived to court charges of criminal conspiracy to commit retail theft, retail theft and receiving stolen property, filed Aug. 24 by Butler Township police.

Jacob B. Smith, 24, of Butler waived to court a charge of retail theft, filed Aug. 26 by Butler Township police.

Daniel E. Ward, 33, of Ambridge waived to court charges of endangering the welfare of children, DUI and driving vehicle at safe speed, filed Sept. 17 by Butler Township police.
