Eris Hornick, 85, of Cranberry Township died Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.

Born April 7, 1924, in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Hazel Uhl.

Mrs. Hornick was a devoted mother, who shared her love of vegetable and flower gardening and landscaping.

She knitted for several charities, including CAPS for Kids and chemo CAPS for adults.

Mrs. Hornick liked to travel to local destinations and supported greyhound dog rescue through Going Home Greyhounds.

She is survived by her devoted daughter, Teresa Canada of Cranberry Township.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew A. Hornick, who died Sept. 8, 1998, and her brother, Norman Uhl.

<B>HORNICK </B>— Friends of Eris Hornick, who died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. William W. Brewer, officiating.
