Isabelle R. Grove
Isabelle R. Grove, 91, formerly of Valencia and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., died early today at the Good Samaritan Hospice of Concordia at Cabot.
Born in Pittsburgh, Aug. 31, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Carrie Pullen.
A homemaker, Mrs. Grove was a member of the Valencia United Methodist Church, where she was past president of the Women in the Church. She had taught the Ladies Bible Class and was a member of the Pastor-Parish Relations Committee and was a Communion steward.
In Florida, she was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church, where she was a trainer for the Evangelism Explosion and was a teacher for Women in the Church and a leader of the Pioneer Girls and Boys.
She was past president of the Woman's Christian Temperance Union.
Surviving are a son, Alfred A. Grove III and his wife, Marilyn, of Gibsonia; a daughter, Carrie Ann Napier and her husband, Dennis, of Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred A. Grove Jr., who she married June 15, 1938, and who died Nov. 21, 1989; a son, Daniel W. Grove; her brothers, Daniel and Charles Pullen; and a sister, Adaline Komprobst.
<B>GROVE</B> — Friends of Isabelle R. Grove, who died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Valencia United Methodist Church, 66 Almira St., Valencia. Please meet at the church. The Rev. Robert Martin, pastor, will officiate.
