Our Butler County area football teams might be struggling, but at least none of them are wearing uniforms that could give fans epilepsy like the Seattle Seahawks did Sunday.

Seriously, Geiger counters all over the United States started going crazy from that radioactive green garb.

See, that's what happens when you make up a bird and make him a mascot.

I was 8-2 last week, running my record to 37-8. The two misfires were notable, however.

I missed on the Yellowjackets. When will I learn never to bet against the 'Jackets? (This week.)

And I missed on the Planets.

Let's see if I can do a little better this week. On to the picks, which will certainly be better on the eyes than the Seahawks' unis.

Freeport 17, Ford City 16 — As a former leader of the free world once said: "There's an old saying in (Butler) — I know it's in Texas, probably in (Butler, too) — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again."I won't get fooled again by Freeport. Its strategery will be better. Mission accomplished.•

Shaler 27, Butler 11 — You have to feel badly for the Golden Tornado, who haven't won a section game since 2006.The losing streak will continue.•

North Allegheny 37, Seneca Valley 22 — NA has two running backs on pace for 1,000-yard seasons. Stopping the run has always been a key barometer of winning and losing for the Raiders.Seneca Valley will slow NA down, but won't be able to stop the Tigers.•

Franklin Regional 31, Knoch 13 — You have to give the Knights credit — they keep getting better each week. Unfortunately, they are running into a solid Franklin Regional squad Friday.It could be close for a while, but Knoch will fall short.•

Mars 28, Highlands 5 — The Planets will dominate.•

Karns City 26, Keystone 10 — Another test for the undefeated Gremlins. Keystone comes to town with a balanced attack and a 3-1 record.But this is KC country. Road wins don't come easily against the Gremlins.•

Moniteau 43, Union 18 — The Warriors scrapped their 3-4 defense and went back to the drawing board last week, whipping up a 4-3 zone scheme. That D gets a little test this week against a dangerous Golden Knights team.Still, Moniteau is too much for improving Union.•

Punxsutawney 48, A-C Valley 8 — But the Falcons win the second half 8-6.•

Grove City 19, Greenville 12 — Look out for the Eagles, and I don't say that just because I am an eagle. I say that because this young Grove City squad is one bad quarter against state-ranked Wilmington away from being 4-0.Grove City will be 4-1 after this week.•

Slippery Rock 17, Reynolds 8 — The Rockets wrap up their first win against Reynolds.•
