It wasn't Brett Rinker or Brian Giesler who clinched a second consecutive District 10, Region 2 title for the Slippery Rock High golf team.

This time it was Luke Taylor.

Needing at least a 95 to nip third-place Hickory and secure the championship, Taylor carded that score Monday.

Grove City ran away with the final megamatch of the season with a 312. Region 2 Player of the Year Ryan Prokay fired a 67 for the Eagles to bring his season average down to 69.4.

But Slippery Rock hung on for back-to-back titles with 31 points. Grove City was second with 30.

Rinker carded an 80 and Giesler an 81 for the Rockets.

Slippery Rock finished lower than second just once during the six megamatches. Grove City finished third twice, accounting for the one point the Eagles were shy of the title.
