Freeport duo lead way in win
Freeport offered some double trouble to Apollo-Ridge.
The tandem of Andrew Teorsky and Alex Isenberg accounted for five touchdowns as the Yellowjackets routed Apollo-Ridge 42-13 Friday night.
Isenberg scored on touchdown runs of 2, 1 and 1 yards, and Teorsky scored on two 5-yard runs to lift the Yellowjackets (2-1).
Freeport held a 28-0 lead at halftime, but Apollo-Ridge closed the gap to 28-13 with a pair of third-quarter scores before the Yellowjackets put the game away.
Teorsky rushed for 98 yards on 16 carries, and Isenberg tallied 57 yards on 15 attempts.
Isenberg also was efficient at quarterback, completing 5-of-8 passes for 66 yards.
<B>Redbank Valley 28, Union 0 </B>— Zach Traister rushed for 94 yards on 15 carries, but the Golden Knights offense was held scoreless for the second straight week in this Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference loss.Union (0-3) was staunch on defense for most the game.Union trailed 7-0 at halftime and 14-0 heading into the final quarter before Redbank Valley (2-1) scored two touchdowns in the final period to put the game away.Redbank Valley quarterback Brandon Bain threw three touchdown passes and was 5-of-8 for 136 yards.Meanwhile, Trent Corle had a rough day under center for Union. Corle was 3-of-10 for 24 yards and two interceptions while facing a relentless pass rush.
<B>Clarion-Limestone 46, A-C Valley 6</B> — Dan Miller connected on three touchdown passes and ran for another as the Lions roared past the Falcons.Clarion-Limestone (1-2) led 20-0 after the first quarter and 34-0 at halftime.A-C Valley (0-3) got its only touchdown in the fourth quarter when Justin Loll caught a lateral and heaved a pass to Michael Orrvick for a 74-yard scoring strike.<B>Burrell 43, Summit Academy 20</B> — Cam Nelson was 15-of-16 passing for 123 yards and two touchdowns as Burrell rolled past the Knights.Nelson also rushed for a score.Despite outgaining Summit Academy by a only seven yards, Burrell built a 24-6 halftime lead and had a 36-6 advantage at the end of three quarters.Maurice Houston led the Knights (0-3) with 71 yards on nine carries.
