Gary Howard Gayhart, 69, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Saturday at the McGraw Hospice Center in Florida after an extended illness.

Gary was born April 17, 1940. He was the son of the late Howard Gayhart and Rita Haser Gayhart. A sister, Gail Satkoff, also preceded him in death.

Mr. Gayhart was a veteran of the Air Force.

He retired from the VA Butler Healthcare Medical Center after 34 years of service. He later worked for Consolidated Labs in Jacksonville for 11 years.

Mr. Gayhart is survived by his loving wife, Tana Lee A. Gayhart, whom he married July 3, 2003; two sons, Sean Gayhart and his wife, Karen, of Butler and Dean Gayhart of Virginia; a stepson, Jamie Hook and his wife, Jennifer, of Butler; a daughter, Richelle Cricks and her husband, Dave, of Butler; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

<B>GAYHART</B> — There will be no visitation for Gary Howard Gayhart, who died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009. Services will be held in Butler at a later date.
