TELFORD — Police in suburban Philadelphia say a woman stabbed her 12-year-old son in the back and then barricaded herself in their apartment.

The boy was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown. His condition isn't being released. Police say it happened around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment in Telford, about 25 miles northwest of Philadelphia.

When officers responded, they say the woman barricaded herself inside. She was eventually arrested after she opened the door to look outside.

PITTSBURGH — The Secret Service has released details of the security perimeters for the G-20 economic summit in Pittsburgh.The Secret Service has created two perimeters around the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, a smaller one for pedestrians and a larger one restricting vehicles.Vehicle traffic is essentially restricted about three blocks on each side of the center. Pedestrians can get much closer, but there are two checkpoints to get to businesses and residences inside the restricted area.The checkpoints go into effect at 8 p.m. on Sept. 23 and last until 8 p.m. on Sept. 25.

HARRISBURG — Dozens of religious leaders have gathered at the Pennsylvania Capitol for an interfaith prayer service over the state budget.Catholic, Protestant and Jewish leaders prayed Tuesday for God to provide politicians with wisdom, understanding and a sense of responsibility.Among them was the Rev. Brenda Alton, the senior pastor at Kingdom Embassy in Harrisburg. She says it's a major challenge to work out a budget in the current recession, but politicians need to remember that continued delays are harming people's lives.
