Cypher

Mary M. Cypher, 90, of Great Belt died Friday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born Feb. 19, 1919, in Great Belt, the daughter of the late Paul and Clara (Reott) Becker.

She was a homemaker and worked with her husband and her parents on the family farm.

She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, where she was formerly in the Christian Mothers. Along with her farm chores, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and had taught her family to sew, crochet and embroider.

Surviving are two sons, Paul S. Cypher and his companion, Janine, and Thomas H. Cypher, all of Great Belt; three daughters, Shirley Snyder of Fenelton, Joanne Meehan of Great Belt and Patty Parsell (Ted) of Chicora; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Cypher of Great Belt; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard P. Cypher, who she married April 27, 1937, and who died March 15, 1997; two sons, James and Bruce Cypher; a daughter, Ethel Cypher, and a granddaughter, Natasha Cypher.

<B>CYPHER</B> — Friends of Mary M. Cypher, who died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the St. Conrad's Fund at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 821 Herman Road, Butler, PA 16002.
