SR man accused of prowling
A trespasser got a frosty reception Wednesday morning after introducing himself to his unwilling host.
Raymond A. Covelli, 26, of Slippery Rock is charged with loitering and prowling at night, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.
According to Butler police, Covelli was attempting to open the doors of houses about 5 a.m. Wednesday on Walker Avenue.
When resident Olga Smith, 73, opened the window and asked the man what he was doing, he allegedly said, "I'm Ray. I'm coming in."
To which Smith responded, "Like hell you are," and then called police.
According to the police report, responding officers found Covelli attempting to open the door of a home on Spang Avenue. When asked what he was doing, Covelli said he was trying to get in.
Since the home is being remodeled and is clearly vacant, police arrested Covelli.
