Evelyn Mae Ritchey

Evelyn Mae Ritchey, 74, of Horner Road, Petrolia, formerly of Lillington, N.C., passed away at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital after an illness.

She was born in Lillington, Harnett County, N.C., May 12, 1935, and was a daughter of the late William Bennett "Bud" Boggs and Cassie Wilson Boggs.

She graduated from Boone Trail High School in Mamers, N.C.

She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers, N.C., and was affiliated with the Faith Fellowship Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Fared Drive, Butler.

She married Edward J. Ritchey on Sept. 1, 1956, in Mamers, N.C., and he survives along with a sister-in-law, Edith Boggs of Broadway, N.C.; six nieces, Barbara Holder, Ernestine Cole and Jeannette Boggs, all of Broadway, N.C., Peggy Bouldin and Rhonda Kelly, both of Sanford, N.C., and Geneva Griffin of Mamers, N.C.; seven nephews, Bruce Boggs, Bennett Boggs, Gerald Boggs and Randy Buchanan, all of Broadway, N.C., and Halford Boggs, Jimmie Boggs and Johnnie Boggs, all of Mamers, N.C.; a niece and her husband, Patty and Gregg Neff of Milton, Fla.; two great-nieces, De Anna Scherbaum and her husband, Allen, of Chicora and Co Dee Wesley and her husband, Brandon, of Milton, Fla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, George Boggs, Lacy Boggs, Jim Boggs and William Boggs; one sister, Cornelia Boggs Buchanan; and two great- nephews, Preston Neff on Jan. 19, 2001, and Travis Neff on Sept. 23, 2004.

<B>RITCHEY</B> — Friends of Evelyn Mae Ritchey, who died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, Petrolia. Visitation also will be from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, Fared Drive, Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Richard Jenks, church pastor, and her nephews, Bruce Boggs and Gregg Neff, officiating.
