Earl William Murray
Earl William Murray, 82, of Brady Township died at 6:45 p.m. Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital following a short illness.
Born July 6, 1927, in Pittsburgh he was the son of Charles and Martha Kaiser Murray.
He married Patricia L. Shibler, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Murray retired because of a disability in 1972 as an owner-operator tractor-trailer driver having worked for South Hills Movers in Pittsburgh.
He was a U.S. Marine and a U.S. Merchant Marine, and he served honorably during World War II.
He was a Catholic. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by a daughter, Lori M. and her husband, Carl "Bruce," Johnson of Slippery Rock; a son, Earl G. "Butch" Murray of Slippery Rock; a sister, Patricia Kuhns of Conyers, Ga.; and two grandsons, Zachary Adam and Aaron Jacob Johnson.
He was preceded in death by a young sister, Irene Murray, and a young brother, Robert "Bobby" Murray.
<B>MURRAY</B> — Funeral services for Earl William Murray, who died Friday, July 31, 2009, will be observed at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B> in Slippery Rock.Friends will be received from noon until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
