Pair of directors added at community college
BUTLER TWP — Two directors have joined Butler County Community College for the start of the fall semester.
Patricia Mihalcin is the new dean of nursing, and Marc Kellner is the new coordinator of academic assessment.
Mihalcin previously was the division chair of Nursing and Allied Health at Westmoreland County Community College. She also was a professor at La Roche College, Duquesne University, Penn State University and Waynesburg University and served as the director of student affairs at Duquesne University's School of Nursing. She was the assistant director of nursing at McKeesport and Shadyside hospitals.
She earned her bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.
Kellner worked for 20 years at Carnegie Mellon University, serving as the senior member of the technical staff for the Software Engineering Institute. More than 80 of his scholarly technical writings were published. He was an instructor at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
He earned two bachelor's, two master's, and a doctoral degree all from Carnegie Mellon University.
