Mary Zaliponi
Mary Zaliponi, 93, formerly of Arlington Avenue in Butler died Saturday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 23, 1916, in Butler, a daughter of the late John and Mary Prexta Warhola.
Mary was a homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; and she greatly enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora.
Her husband, Alex Zaliponi, whom she married Sept. 12, 1937, preceded her in death Sept. 26, 1982. Three brothers, two sisters and a great-grandson also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her son and his wife, Rodney D. and Paula Zaliponi of Butler; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Donna) Gostey of Canfield, Ohio, Gloria Jean Conklin of Butler, Mrs. Edward (Carlotta) Rodgers of Portersville and Mrs. Jack (Mary Lou) Hinton of Fenelton; and a brother, Nick Warhola of Lyndora. Eleven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive her.
<B>ZALIPONI </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Mary Zaliponi, who died Saturday, July 25, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham Street in Butler. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday from St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora with Abbot Leo Schlosser, pastor, officiating.
