Heisler

M. Janice Heisler, 70, of Cranberry Township, formerly of Cecil Township and Castle Shannon, died Wednesday at her home surrounded by her children.

Born Jan. 5, 1939, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Newmeyer and Elizabeth Carter Newmeyer.

Mrs. Heisler enjoyed sewing and scrapbooking and was an avid gardener, nurturing the flowers and vegetables in her beautiful yard.

She was a member of the Butler County YMCA in Cranberry Township and was the former office manager for Lilja Construction Corp. in Bethel Park.

She is survived by three daughters, Deborah Tomsic of Alexandria, Va., Karen Patton (Shawn) of Blythewood, S.C., and Susan Lestander (Martin) of Canonsburg; a son, Donald J. Heisler Jr. of Bridgeville; five grandchildren, Lauren, Gillian and Luke Patton, and Brendan and Jason Lestander; a sister, Joyce Turkovich; and three brothers, Joe, Jerry and Jim Newmeyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Heisler Sr., who died Feb. 25, 2005.
