Richard P. "Dick" Blain, 81, of Butler passed away at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at his daughter's residence in Baden.

He was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Center Township, the son of the late John Milton Blain and the late Elsie Grace (Van Gorder) Blain.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a member of Faith United Presbyterian Church.

He retired from the melt shop maintenance at Armco Steel and also was a part-time bus driver for the Butler School District.

He was a member of the Armco Vets, the Armco Management Club and Parker VFW Post 7073.

He enjoyed walking at the Clearview Mall, bowling and camping.

Surviving are his daughter Mrs. Kirk (Kathy) Hinchberger of Baden; a son, Richard K. Blain and his companion, Brenda Sinchar of Butler; and two grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hinchberger and Michael Hinchberger.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann (McCormick) Blain, who died May 13, 2000; two sisters; and three brothers.

<B>BLAIN</B> — Friends of Richard P. "Dick" Blain, who died Wednesday, July 22, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Young Funeral Home</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at Faith United Presbyterian Church, 1329 N. Main St., with the Rev. Ray Eichler officiating.
