Daniel 'Boone' Fleeger

Daniel A. "Boone" Fleeger, 91, of Euclid passed away at 10:40 p.m. Monday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a short illness.

He was born Nov. 21, 1917, in Euclid. He was the son of the late Josiah and Emily Emma Causer Fleeger.

He was a steelworker in the melt shop at Armco for more than 37 years.

He was a member of the Muddycreek United Presbyterian Church.

He enjoyed reading, hunting, fishing, baseball, bowling and golfing.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Emma Jo) Rumbaugh of Butler, Mrs. John (Joann) Beal of Lanham, Md., and Linda Fleeger of Butler; three sons, Albert Fleeger and his wife, Ruth, of Butler, Kenneth Fleeger of Butler and Gary Fleeger and his wife, Charlene, of Butler; 35 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; six step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild; and two sisters, Mrs. Edward (Virginia) Davis of Butler and Mrs. Esther Patton of Saxonburg.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Josephine Fleeger, who died Nov. 9, 2004; one son, Daniel; one grandson; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; four sisters; and five brothers.

<B>FLEEGER</B> — Friends of Daniel A. "Boone" Fleeger, who died Monday, July 20, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the Muddycreek United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Matt Kail, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery.
