Frances Donnel, 94, of the Evergreen Nursing Home in Harmony, formerly of North Elm Street, Butler, died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday in the nursing home.

Born May 15, 1915, in Connoquenessing, she was the daughter of the late Harry Murl Dumbaugh and the late Mattie L. Doutt.

Mrs. Donnel was a member of First United Methodist Church in Butler.

She was a homemaker and a caring, loving mother devoted to her family.

Mrs. Donnel was a member of the Tanglewood Senior Center of Butler and was on the tour committee and 60 Plus Outreach, a visiting group to senior citizens in hospitals, home and nursing care centers. She was an avid doll collector and a ceramics enthusiast.

Mrs. Donnel is survived by four sons, William E. Donnel and his wife, Janet, of Butler, Robert C. Donnel and his wife, Judy, of Butler, Curtis L. Donnel and his wife, Kathy, of Springfield, Va., and Douglas C. Donnel and his companion, Cheryl Knox, of Warner Robins, Ga.; a daughter, Karen E. and her husband, Russ Ottney, of Harmony; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Pauline Fair of Naples, Fla.

Mrs. Donnel was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Donnel, who she married June 2, 1937, and who passed away Feb. 22, 2004. Also preceding her in death were her son, David Alan; four brothers; and five sisters.

<B>DONNEL</B> — Friends of Frances Donnel, who died Tuesday, July 14, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 9 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. J. David Panther of First United Methodist Church officiating.
