Roderic L. 'Rod' Porter
Roderic Lee "Rod" Porter, 78, formerly of Valencia, died Sunday.
Born April 24, 1931, in McCandless Township, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Elda F. (Waugaman) Porter.
Rod proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Ora Perkins, Robert J. Porter Jr., Joseph M. Porter and Edythe Kennedy.
He was the father of Roderic L. (Barbara) Porter Jr. of Crystal Lake, Ill., Patti S. (Alan) Yasenka of Ellwood City, William Scott (Nancy) Porter of Kittanning and Brian (Becky) Porter of Butler; brother of Wendell (Helen) Porter of Clearwater, Fla., Elsie (Harold) Cunningham of Bakerstown and Margaret (William) Trautmann of Cortland, Ohio; and brother-in-law of Rose Porter of Zelienople and Ray Kennedy of Concord, Ohio.
In addition, he is survived by eight grandchildren.
<B>PORTER</B> — The family of Roderic Lee "Rod" Porter, who died Sunday, July 5, 2009, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and from 7 until the time of services at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, Richland Township. The Rev. Vernon Borchert will officiate.
