Richard C. "Dick" Raabe, 64, of Prospect died at 11:22 a.m. Thursday in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born in New Castle, Aug. 26, 1944, he was the son of Charles Adam Raabe and Mildred E. McCracken Raabe.

Mr. Raabe was a Presbyterian.

He started as a machinist at Butler Armco and then advanced to superintendent of central maintenance there, retiring in 1996.

Mr. Raabe enjoyed his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, golf and gardening. He also enjoyed his family camp.

He graduated in 1962 from Butler High School.

Mr. Raabe is survived by his wife, Judy Kinzer Raabe, who he married March 19, 1965; four sons, David Raabe and his wife Angela, of Christiana, Pa., Daniel Raabe and his wife, Molly, of Fenelton, Jeff Raabe and his wife, Michelle, of Mars, and Douglas Raabe and his wife, Sherry, of Rimersburg; nine grandchildren, Justin, Jim, Bailey, Andrew, Nick, David, Morgan, Lexie and Tyler; one great-grandson, Brydon; his mother, Mildred E. Raabe of Butler; one sister, Judith and her husband, Gaylon DeVries, of Fredericksburg, Va.; two nieces; and three nephews.

<B>RAABE</B> — Friends of Richard C. "Dick" Raabe, who died Thursday, July 2, 2009, will be received from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Deb Crusan, a Presbyterian minister, officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Associated Artists of Butler County, P.O.
