Betty Corrine Knight Martin, 75, of 3 Village Road, Slippery Rock in Scott Township, Lawrence County, died at 4:30 a.m. Thursday at her home.

Born in West Virginia, Nov., 19, 1933, she was the daughter of Albert Boyd Knight and Myrtle Goldie Morris.

She married Lonnie Elsworth Martin on Nov. 19, 1952. He died Oct. 31, 1998.

She was a homemaker and was a Protestant. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters, Marlena Kay Houglan and her husband, Robert, of Akron, Ohio, Crystal Martin of Reinholds, Pa., and Angela Martin-Wilson, who lived with Betty, in Slippery Rock; two sons, Danny E. Martin of Tornado, W.Va., and Mark E. Martin of Slippery Rock; three brothers, Orville "Bud" Knight and his wife, Nina, of Dille, W.Va., Paul "Junior" Knight and his wife, Shirley, of Colora, Md., and Gerald "Jerry" Knight of Volant; and a sister, Bonnie DeCaria and her husband, Joseph, of Ellwood City. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Ray Martin; four brothers, Leonard, Gordon, William and James; and four sisters, Hazel Detamore, Ruby Thompson, Dorthyleen Kyer and Evelyn Bennett.

<B>MARTIN</B> — Visitation for Betty Corrine Knight Martin, who died Thursday, July 2, 2009, will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock. Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Harter of Family Hospice and Palliative Care in Hermitage officiating.
