Murdock

Elizabeth "Betsy" Boland Murdock, 59, of Butler died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 12, 1949, in Long Island, N.Y., she was the daughter of Robert and Helen O'Connel Boland.

She worked as a health care administrator for Allegheny General Hospital. Betsy also was vice president for Allegheny General Hospital.

Betsy earned her bachelor's degree in business administration and her master's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating first in her class.

Betsy was a member of the Thorn Creek United Methodist Church, where she also was the accountant. She was very involved in community organizations.

Betsy enjoyed swimming, going to the beach, spending time with her family and helping others.

Surviving are her husband, Jim Murdock, who she married Feb. 21, 1978; her son, Josiah Murdock of Indiana, Pa.; her daughter, Meghan (Ryan Pohl) Murdock of Natrona Heights; her brother, Michael (Phyllis) Boland of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her sister, Kaye (Dean) Zenger of Palatine, Ill.; and her nephews and niece, Robert, Brian and Katie Boland.

Preceding her in death were her parents.

<B>MURDOCK</B> — Memorial services for Elizabeth "Betsy" Boland Murdock, who died Monday, June 29, 2009, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Thorn Creek United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kurt Knobel officiating.
