Robert J. Zwahlen
Robert J. Zwahlen, 76, of Cabot, formerly of Butler, died Saturday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
He was born March 18, 1933, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late George W. and Estelle "Esty" Campbell Zwahlen.
Bob earned his bachelor of science degree in chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh in 1955, followed by graduate studies in nuclear science at Georgia Tech University.
He was the retired manager of computer software development for Logica Data Architects in San Francisco.
He lived in California for eight years and returned to Western Pennsylvania in 1991.
Mr. Zwahlen was a captain in the U.S. Army and served from 1955 through 1964.
His beloved wife and sweetheart, Sheila Ruane Zwahlen, whom he married Jan. 7, 1952, survives him; also surviving are two brothers, W. Barry Zwahlen of California and G. Wayne Zwahlen of the Forest Hills area of Pittsburgh; and a sister, Mrs. John (Carole) Sechoka of Plum Borough. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.
<B>ZWAHLEN </B>—<B> </B>Friends and family of Robert. J. Zwahlen, who died Saturday, June 27, 2009, will gather from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. in Butler. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Father Steven Neff, pastor of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
