Grace E. Marburger

Grace E. Marburger, 92, of Evans City, passed away peacefully Wednesday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township, after a long illness.

She was born Feb. 3, 1917, in Evans City, the daughter of the late Victor W. "Wahlie" and Hazel McCandless Marburger.

She was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Evans City, where she was a past president of church council.

She was a graduate of Evans City High School and Grove City College.

She retired as an Administrative Assistant at Koppers Company, Pittsburgh, after 34 years of dedicated service.

She was a charter member and past president of the Business and Professional Women's Organization. She served as a board member of the Evans City Library and was a member of the Evans City Historical Society.

She enjoyed being with family and friends, cooking, playing cards, oil painting and traveling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Lucille Marburger, Helen Slack, Hazel Grabman and Eleanor Havs.

Surviving are two brothers, Victor Marburger of Mercer, and Roy Marburger (Janet) of Allison Park; 16 loving nieces and nephews, 29 great-nieces and great-nephews and two great-great-nephews.

<B>MARBURGER</B> — Friends and relatives of Grace E. Marburger, who died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home Inc.</B>, 328 W. Main St., Evans City. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday from St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Evans City, with the Rev. David Saylor, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Evans City Cemetery.
