Florence Mae Ballew

Florence Mae Ballew, 86, of Butler, formerly of Prospect, went peacefully to be with the angels in Heaven Wednesday.

Born April 28, 1923, in Allegheny County, she was the daughter of Benjamin and Margaret Ehrman Shaner.

She was a homemaker and she was protestant by faith.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Michael (Shirley) Ackelson of Butler, Mrs. Sheila Schrecengost of Prospect, Patricia Ballew of Butler and Mrs. Joseph (Connie) Heinl of Prospect; six sons, James Ballew, William Ballew, Raymond Ballew, Arthur Ballew and Thomas Ballew, all of Butler, and Robert Ballew of Grove City; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother, James Shaner and his wife, Ruth, of Callery.

She was preceded by her husband, Robert Ballew, who died June 21, 1965; two brothers; a sister; a grandson; a great-grandson; and a son-in-law.

<B>BALLEW</B> — There will be no public visitation for Florence Mae Ballew, who died Wednesday, June 24, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the <B>Jay Bryan Funeral Home</B>, 443 Main St., Prospect. The Rev. Gary Brown of The Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Prospect will officiate.Burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
