Carol "Suzie" Erickson, 55, of Grove City, formerly of Zelienople, died Tuesday at the Grove City Medical Center.

Born Jan. 11, 1954, in Ellwood City, the daughter of Shirley (Evans) Dinter of Harmony and the late John Shidemantle.

Carol graduated from Seneca Valley High School then went on to graduate with high honors from the North Hills Passavant Hospital School of Nursing. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at VA Butler Healthcare medical center and at St. Paul Homes, Greenville, specializing in geriatric care.

She loved her Labs and flowers and especially loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 25 years, Joseph E. Erickson, who she married June 21, 1984; a son, James C. McCall of Grove City; a daughter, Shawna Marie McCall of Butler; a brother, Larry Shidemantle of Hagerstown, Md; and a sister, Vicki L. Nelson, of Colorado Springs, Colo. Also surviving are two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
