Mary Margaret Novak
Mary Margaret B. Novak, 90, of 1517 Melrose Ave., Natrona Heights, died at 3:45 a.m. Sunday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights.
Born June 14, 1919, in Tarentum, she was the daughter of the late Andrew L. Weleski and the late Mary (Blaczak) Weleski.
She was a resident of Natrona Heights since 1955 and formerly lived in Tarentum.
She was a homemaker and also had been the secretary/bookkeeper for Joseph Novak Contracting for 40 years.
Mrs. Novak was affiliated with Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights. She also belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America, the Ladies Guild, the Neighborly 8 card club in Natrona Heights for more than 50 years and the Kit-han-Ne Rock and Gem Club.
She graduated from Har-Brack High School in 1937 and enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading and gardening and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan.
Surviving are a son, Thomas J. (Karen) Novak of Walkersville, Md.; a daughter, Mary Ann Hoovler of Franklin Township, Butler County; grandchildren, Laura (Aaron) Silverman of Westminster, Md., Michael J. (Diane) Novak of Havre de Grace, Md., David (Ginger) Hoovler of Franklin Township and Carole Hoovler of Franklin Township; great-grandchildren, Robert J. Silverman, Thomas N. Silverman and Evelyn Novak; and a sister, Marcella Dobrzynski of Natrona Heights.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Novak, in 1991; two brothers, John and Anthony Weleski; and a sister, Ann Thompson.

Novak, who died Sunday, June 21, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the <B>Duster Funeral Home</B>, 10th Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, 724-224-1526. A Christian funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights.
