Charles Willard Myers

Charles Willard Myers, 95, of Mount Jewett, Pa., formerly of West Meyer Avenue in New Castle, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Thursday at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport.

Willard was born in Portersville, May 25, 1914, the son of Norman and Mabel Josie Boozell Myers.

He married Gladys Lucille Stickel on Oct. 2, 1936; and she preceded him in death Oct. 21, 2002.

Willard, along with his brother, Ernest, owned the Myers Golden Dawn in Portersville; and he later worked for Garrett Locker in New Wilmington.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Willard was a member of the Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church of New Castle, where he was a former trustee.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ben (Connie) Kossack of Mount Jewett; three grandsons; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Ernest Myers of Portersville.

Willard is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

<B>MYERS </B>— Visitation for Charles Willard Myers, who died Thursday, June 18, 2009, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dana Opp, pastor of the Portersville Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will follow at the Portersville Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
