Lemuel Schrecengost

Schrecengost

Lemuel C. Schrecengost of Seminole, Pa., died Saturday in the Dubois Regional Medical Center. He was 83 years old.

He was born Oct. 14, 1925, in Porter Township, Jefferson County, the son of Lemuel Earl Schrecengost and Nanny Katherine (Lucas) Schrecengost. Both his parents preceded him in death.

He married Betty E. (Miller) Schrecengost on Nov. 15, 1945. She survives.

He was the owner and operator of Shreck's Garage in Evans City, and he was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by three daughters, Judy and Larry Miller of Zelienople, Lois and Hillis Kaltenbaugh of Renfrew and Karen Sue Schrecengost of Seminole. He also is survived by two sisters, Joyce Kohler of Butler and Louise Troup of Fairmount City, Pa.; three brothers, Clifford Schrecengost of Renfrew, Rick Dinger of Altoona and Gary Dinger of Fairmount City; a stepbrother, Roger Dinger of Rochester Mills, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Eugene Schrecengost; five sisters, Savilla Craft, Grace Craft, Ella Maze, Loretta Cramer and Betty Schrecengost; three brothers, Charles Schrecengost, Henry Schrecengost and David Leroy Schrecengost; and one stepbrother, Fred Dinger.

<B>Schrecengost</B> — Visitation for Lemuel C. Schrecengost, who died Saturday, June 13, 2009, will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Alcorn funeral home </B>in Hawthorn, Pa. A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, with Pastor Keith A. Karns of the Church of God in Evans City officiating. Interment will be in the Butler County Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Betty Schrecengost to help with expenses.
