Sister Rose E. Kroha
Sister Rose Esther Kroha, OSF, 92, of Pittsburgh passed away Friday in Mount Alvernia.
She was born Aug. 28, 1916, in Chicora, the daughter of Joseph Kroha and Mary Reisser.
She was a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Neumann Communities and had entered the congregation on Sept. 7, 1933, from St. Wendelin, Butler.
She served in education, health care, community service and prayer ministry for the congregation during her 75 years as a sister of St. Francis.
She was a gracious person who always delighted in greeting visitors and making them feel at home exhibiting true Franciscan hospitality. She will be missed by all she touched in her life of service.
Surviving are her nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Francis, Leo, Aloysius, Anthony and George and five sisters, Anna, Mary, Sister Luella, OSF, Dorothy and Rose.
<B>KROHA</B> — Friends of Sister Rose Esther Kroha who died Friday, June 12, 2009, will be received at Mount Alvernia from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4:30 p.m. Monday. A wake service will be held at 6:15 p.m. Sunday with Vespers held at 4:45 p.m. Monday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5 p.m. Monday with burial at the sisters' cemetery at Mount Alvernia.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis Ministry, Formation or Retirement Fund, 146 Hawthorne Rd., Pittsburgh, 15209.
