Helen E. Orzechowski Kotvas, 94, of West Leechburg died at 3:26 a.m. Friday at the Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights.

She was born March 12, 1915, in West Leechburg, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Szyracki Orzechowski.

Mrs. Kotvas was a life-long resident of West Leechburg.

She was a member of the Forks-Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gilpin Township and a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.

Mrs. Kotvas enjoyed playing bingo, going on bus trips, canning, baking, cooking, reading, working word puzzles and writing to her friends.

She is survived by four sons, Martin S. Kotvas and his wife, Donna Jean, of Sigel, Raymond George Kotvas and his wife, Joyce, and Leonard J. Kotvas and his wife, Diane, all of West Leechburg, and John W. Kotvas and his wife, Sandra, of Allegheny Township; a daughter, Patricia Ann Tenerowicz and her husband, Henry, of Butler; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve A. Kotvas, who died June 6, 1978; two brothers, Edward Orzechowski and John Orris; and two sisters, Josephine Pociboreck and Cecilia D. Kulick.

<B>KOTVAS —</B> Friends of Helen E. Orzechowski Kotvas, who died Friday, June 12, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at <B>CLAWSONS FUNERAL HOME,</B> 170 Main St., Leechburg, and from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday at Forks Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Gilpin Township. Funeral services will be at noon at the church with the Rev. Kevin E. Anderson, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Allegheny Township.Memorial contributions may be made to the Forks-Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, the West Leechburg Volunteer Fire Department, the Holy Family Institute in Emsworth or to St. Jude's Hospital for Children in Memphis, Tenn.To send a condolence to her family, please visit www.clawsonfuneralhome.com.
