Calvin Dean Hiles, 71, of Pine Road, Karns City, passed away suddenly of natural causes at 11:50 p.m. Tuesday at his home.

He was born in Perry Township, Armstrong County, June 1, 1938, and was a son of the late James Hiles and Nellie Barger Hiles.

He was a member of the Queenstown United Methodist Church and had attended Karns City schools.

He was a member of Argyle Lodge F&AM of Chicora and the Consistory, Valley of New Castle.

He enjoyed hunting, casino gambling and card games.

He was employed at Indspec Chemical Co. in Petrolia for 28 years as a liquid handler, retiring in 2000.

He married the former June A. Weibel in Rimersburg, and she survives along with three sons, Donald C. Hiles and his wife, Renet D., of Chicora, Frederick A. Hiles of Ohio and Bryan K. Hiles of Cranberry Township; a daughter, Trina E. Polaniec of Tomball, Texas; a stepson, John W. Ridgeway of Kittanning Hollow Road, East Brady; five grandchildren, Justin and Jace Hiles of Chicora, Benjamin and Taylor Polaniec of Tomball, Texas, and Joshua Ridgeway of Kittanning Hollow Road, East Brady; a great-grandson, Gavin K. Hiles of Chicora; a brother, James M. "Squire" Hiles and his wife, Carol, of Karns City; a sister, Margaret "Marge" McLain of East Brady; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Hiles; and four sisters, Mae Sebring, Kathryn Wyant, Frances Peters and Laura "Betty" Barger.

<B>HILES </B>— In accordance with the wishes of Calvin Dean Hiles, who died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, there will not be any viewing or funeral services. Interment will take place in Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.Arrangements are being handled by the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, Petrolia.
