Solkovy

Martha Heuler Solkovy, 84, of Butler died at 5 p.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Dec. 25, 1924, in Sewickley, she was the daughter of the late John A. Heuler and the late LaVerne Brunner Heuler.

Mrs. Solkovy was a secretary in the shipping department for Mine Safety Appliance, retiring April 15, 2003.

She was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church of Meridian and enjoyed her grandchildren, her dog, nature and hiking.

Mrs. Solkovy is survived by her husband, Robert O. Solkovy Sr., who she married Aug. 24, 1949; a son and his wife, Robert O. and Terri Solkovy Jr. of Butler; two grandchildren, Shauna Christine Solkovy of Butler and Melissa Erin Solkovy of Butler; and two brothers, Joseph Heuler and his wife, Ellen, of Sewickley and Gerard Heuler and his wife, Elizabeth, of Ambridge.

Mrs. Solkovy was preceded in death by one sister, one brother and one son, John K. Solkovy.

<B>SOLKOVY</B> — Friends of Martha Heuler Solkovy, who died Sunday, June 7, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian, with the Rev.
