Joan T. Luce

Joan T. Luce, 70, of Clintonville Road, Harrisville, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away at 3:40 a.m. Wednesday at her home with her loving family present after an extended illness.

Born Sept. 26, 1938, in Slippery Rock, she was the daughter of Alfred Rockburn and Mary Warnick Rockburn.

She married Nathaniel "Ed" Luce on June 7, 1957, and he passed away June 21, 2007.

She attended elementary and high school in the Slippery Rock area.

Mrs. Luce was a devoted housewife and mother. She enjoyed upholstering furniture for years for the community and friends, along with quilting, flowers, gardening and most of all her family and grandchildren.

She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Forestville and also a former member of the Christian Mothers of the church.

Surviving are four sons and one daughter, Mark Luce and his wife, Susan, of Harrisville, Mike Luce and his wife, Beth, of Monroeville, Tim Luce and his wife, Mary Beth, of Trafford, Jeff Luce and his wife, Karen, of Williston, Vt., and Tracey Henley and her husband, John, of Norwalk, Ohio; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. One sister, Barbara Baker of Florida; and one brother, Francis Rockburn and his wife, Dixie, of Harrisville, also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Billie Long and Carol Koprivnak.
