Clarence L. Renfrew

Clarence L. "Nick" Renfrew, 82, of Las Vegas, formerly of Butler, died Monday in Las Vegas. He had lived in Las Vegas since 1986.

He was born Oct. 16, 1926, in Butler, a son of the late Clarence L. and Laura Bartley Renfrew.

Nick was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War and was a life member of the VFW Post 249 in Butler.

He worked at Butler Armco for 39 years and retired as a furnace tender in 1986.

Clarence was a former member of the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Butler.

His wife, Martha Josephs Renfrew, preceded him in death on May 18, 1990.

Surviving are his daughter, Cindy Renfrew Alawad and her husband, Anwar, of Las Vegas; one brother, Leroy Renfrew and his wife, Dolores, of Saxonburg; and one sister, Marian Gold of Butler. Several nieces and nephews also survive him.

<B>RENFREW</B> — Friends of Clarence L. "Nick" Renfrew, who died Monday, June 1, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Panther, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.
