Katherine Barnes Fraser, 63, of Gateshead, England, formerly of Zelienople, died Thursday in England following a prolonged illness.

She was born May 5, 1946, the daughter of Mary P. Barnes of Zelienople and the late Raymond V. Barnes.

She was a 1964 graduate of Zelienople High School and attended Slippery Rock University where she majored in physical education.

Surviving are her mother; her beloved husband, Alan Fraser, with whom she made her home in Gateshead, England; three daughters, Erika L. Nordberg and Sonya L. Peters, both of Butler, and Heather L. Reynolds of Round Rock, Texas; one grandson, Pfc. Andrew Philip Nordberg, U.S. Marine Corps; one sister, Gwendolyn Barnes Lutz, and one brother, William J. Barnes, both of Zelienople.

She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Victor Barnes.
