Edward J. Mizgorski Jr., 45, of Fredericksburg, Va., formerly of Gibsonia, died Tuesday.

Born June 14, 1963, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Edward J. and Priscilla (Haas) Mizgorski of Gibsonia.

A 1981 graduate of Richland High School, Ed earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education in 1991 from Slippery Rock University and a Master of Science in special education in 2002 from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Va. Proudly, he taught special education at the Woodbridge Middle School in Woodbridge, Va.

In addition, he was a passionate Steelers fan and an avid fisherman and hunter.

He was the beloved husband for 18 years of Lori (Henry) Mizgorski, who he married May 25, 1991; loving father of Allison N. Mizgorski; grandson of Helen Mizgorski of Reserve Township; dear brother of Alan Mizgorski of Philadelphia, Sharon (Thomas) McGrath of Gibsonia and Raymond (Felicia) Mizgorski of Ross; son-in-law of Russell and Virginia (Shannon) Henry of Connoquenessing; brother-in-law of Brian (Jenifer) Henry of Butler and Traci (Gary) Mercadante of New Brighton; and step-grandson-in-law of Edna Henry of Grove City. In addition, he is survived by four nieces and four nephews.

Mizgorski Jr., who died Tuesday, May 26, 2009, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Schellhaas Funeral Home</B>, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown, 724-443-1505. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the St. Richard Church with Father Kenneth Oldenski and the Rev. William Lee Dreyer concelebrating.
